Day 1 - Melbourne - Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges

Melbourne to Yarra Valley (via the Dandenong Ranges)
Highlights:
Only one hour from Melbourne's CBD, the Dandenong Ranges are an idyllic mountain retreat for visitors to experience. Take a ride on Puffing Billy, Australia's oldest steam railway and be awestruck by the incredible views over Melbourne and the Bay.
Continue towards the Yarra Valley, recognised as one of the world's great wine growing regions, where you can explore over 55 wineries and a number of breweries. Stop for lunch at one of the many restaurants; enjoy a cheese platter and delicious local produce. Have an up close and personal experience with Australian wildlife at Healesville Sanctuary.

Day 2 - Yarra Ranges - High Country

Healesville to Mt Buller (via Marysville)
Highlights:
Start your day at dawn floating over forests, farms and vines in a hot air balloon before landing for a breakfast of sparkling wine and local produce at a winery.
Travel to Marysville, the site of the devastating 2009 bushfires and see its amazing recovery. Continue onto the picturesque Lake Eildon and enjoy morning tea, cast a fishing line, take a ride on the back of a boat, or enjoy a brisk bushwalk around the lake, before heading off again.
Journey into the heart of Victoria's High Country, Mansfield, home of Victoria's traditional cattlemen and an adventure sports haven. Experience horseback riding, mountain biking, rock climbing, four-wheel driving, skiing (seasonal), bushwalking, canoeing and white water rafting.
After a day of adventure, continue up to Mt Buller and settle in one of the many alpine lodges or resorts.

Day 3 - High Country - The Murray

Mount Buller to Albury Wodonga (via Beechworth)
Highlights:
Enjoy an early morning walk high up in the mountains to awaken the senses.
Continue onto Beechworth through the spectacular Milawa and King Valley, one of Australia's oldest gourmet regions. Meet the winemakers and their families as you tour intimate, authentic wineries.
Roam Beechworth on paths paved with gold during the 1850's Gold Rush, which left an impressive legacy of over 30 National Trust-listed buildings for today's visitors. Visit the Beechworth Historic and Cultural Precinct and see the gaol that hosted notorious bushranger Ned Kelly. Uncover wealth of a different kind with Beechworth's abundance of city quality eateries including the famous Beechworth Bakery.
Continue onto Albury Wodonga, a thriving modern city offering a charming mix of stately heritage buildings, established parks and gardens and the mighty Murray River winding through a magnificent unspoiled landscape of rolling valleys, hills and lush farmlands. Stay a while, or continue your travels via Canberra to Sydney by car or by flying out of Albury's regional airport, where you can catch multiple daily flights to Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and other regional centres.
